
Dr. Freston Marc Sirur, MD, (Associate Professor, Dept. of Emergency Medicine, Kasturba Medical College) is an Emergency Physician whose focus areas are on wilderness medicine, envenomation, toxicology, pre-hospital care, infectious diseases and trauma. Interested in toxicology, investing time in not only research and patient care in the emergency departments and Intensive care units he has worked in, also educates PG students of Emergency Medicine, other specialties, interns, EMTs, first responders. Involved in rural and remote medical services. Initiated the Centre for Wilderness Medicine and networks with the Student Mobility Centre at Kasturba Medical College, MAHE he has been able to extend services through the University, Teaches wilderness medicine, conservation, sustainability and snakebites as neglected tropical diseases. Studies envenomation with a focus on snakebite- the identification of species involved, efficacy of anti-snake venom, treatment protocols and complications of treating, and general awareness of society.
