Is a non-profit organization dedicated to the integration of science and conscience for the conservation of forests and the environment. Established in Agumbe, located in the Shivamogga district of Karnataka, the foundation operates under the leadership of Dr. P Gowri Shankar, a prominent figure in the field of king cobra biology and environmental education in India.
With a core focus on research, awareness, and outreach, the Kālinga Foundation endeavors to engage individuals from diverse backgrounds in conservation efforts through education, workshops, camps, and internship opportunities.
Promotes animal welfare by supporting projects focused on reptiles, amphibians, and arthropods, along with their habitats. Established out of idealism, the foundation strives to protect these species and educate the public about them.
Supporting conservation projects through funding, logistical assistance, and grassroots-level development while respecting the guidelines and needs of each initiative.
The symposium is overseen by a core Organising Committee, with guidance from an Advisory Committee and support from an Administrative & Logistics Team. A group of committed Volunteers and Workshop Facilitators will also play a key role in the smooth execution of this international event.
