Important notice
The upcoming symposium will be rescheduled to a later date due to current international instability and ongoing conflicts affecting travel and global logistics. We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause. As soon as updates are available and a new date has been confirmed this information will be updated accordingly.
We are pleased to invite workshop proposals for the upcoming international symposium titled “The King and Other Elapid Snakes of the Oriental Tropics,” jointly organized by the Kālinga Foundation and The Herpetofauna Foundation. The symposium will be held from 16th to 18th october 2026 at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
This landmark event brings together experts from across the globe to advance knowledge on elapid snake ecology, evolution, venom biology, and snakebite mitigation. A vital part of the symposium will be hands-on capacity-building workshops aimed at equipping participants, students, early-career researchers, conservation practitioners, and healthcare professionals with practical skills and conceptual frameworks in relevant fields.
We invite experienced scientists, conservationists, medical professionals, educators, and wildlife practitioners to submit proposals to conduct workshops during the symposium.
Workshops should be interactive, applied, and designed for a mixed audience of students and professionals. Each session will be approximately 2–3 hours in duration, with options for extended or split sessions upon request.
While we welcome a diverse range of proposals, we especially encourage workshops on the following topics:
